Skype audio issue fixed : Call me now

I was bugged with some issues related to pulseaudio for few days and I was not able to make audio calls to any one over skype and one of the main error I could see in logs is as follows:

pulseaudio[6993]: pstream.c: Failed to import memory block.

I tried to follow up on so many forums and blogs but nothing helped me out. Even tried recompiling alsa tools, drivers, libs etc manually. That too didn’t work. If you remember, I had recently upgraded my distro to Intrepid Ibex, and the above issue was reported with older versions of Ubuntu. It’s a good idea to test the new debs when you have a new distro. So, I went ahead and reinstalled all the pulseaudio debs found on my system as follows:

aptitude reinstall pulseaudio pulseaudio-esound-compat pulseaudio-module-gconf pulseaudio-module-hal pulseaudio-module-x11 pulseaudio-module-zeroconf pulseaudio-utils vlc-plugin-pulselibao-pulse libasound2-plugins

This really worked for me and resolve the issue related to Audio on Skype. Don’t forget to choose the device manually instead of default devices allocated to Skype Out and Skype In.
