Gparted On Ubuntu 8.10 – Sleek and Powerful

It’s really cute to see the new face of gparted on Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex. No issues with NTFS resize. In turn it’s quite fast when compared to earlier resizes which I had done on dozens of laptops.

Above is the picture of Ubuntu Installation wizard paritioning stage. That also has been made colorful.

  1. with “Guided – resize…” i can install ubuntu with all components (like /home and stuff) automatically?

  2. Celesto, Yes, once you’re done with the resize you can create any number of partition inside an Extended partition. (You can have 4 Primary partitions or 3 Primary and one Extended (Inside extended you can have many partitions))

  3. i downloaded ” ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386 ”
    burned it to CD. after that i got 3 menus
    1) Demo and full Instalation
    2) Install inside windows
    3) Learn more

    Please help me i am an newbabby to the Linux ….
    i wanna give a try, nothing else

  4. Do you have a free partition to get Linux installed? Or you just want to try it?
