Between I was totally ignorant about the FireFox version all these days and even forgot that I had installed a beta release to test some of its cool features..

Cool features? What is so cool about Firefox 3.1?

Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 is based on the Gecko 1.9.1 rendering platform, which has been under development for the past 6 months. Gecko 1.9.1 is an incremental release on the previous version with significant changes to improve web compatibility, performance, and ease of use:

  • Web standards improvements in the Gecko layout engine
  • Added support for CSS 2.1 and CSS 3 properties
  • A new tab-switching shortcut that shows previews of the tab you’re switching to
  • Improved control over the Smart Location Bar using special characters to restrict your search

While I write this blog I found a very interesting blog post on Computer World comparing Firefox3.1,Chrome and IE 8. Read it to see whats happening @ Browser Wars..

To make it simple, I just wanted to check out how its “Private Browsing” features works.. and nothing much. At present loving to work with Tree style tab (recommended by Aravinda) and CoolIris plug-ins. If you’re a heavy Firefox user, do check “Tree Style Tab” plugin at-least.
