ನೀರವ ರಾತ್ರಿಯ ಆ ದಿನ, ಸದ್ದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿದ್ರಾದೇವಿಗೆ ಶರಣಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಶಾಂತರಾದಂತೆ ಕಾರು ಡ್ರೈ ಮಾಡಿ, ಕಾಡುಮೇಡು ಸುತ್ತಿ, ಬೆಟ್ಟ ಹತ್ತಿ ದಣಿದಿದ್ದ ನನ್ನ ದೇಹವೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದೇ ನಿಶ್ಚಲ ನಿದ್ರಾಸ್ಥಿತಿ ತಲುಪಿತ್ತು. ತಣ್ಣನೆ ಗಾಳಿ ಬೀಸುತ್ತಾ, ಹೊದ್ದಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾಲಿಗೆ ಹೊದ್ದಿದೆಯೇ ಎಂದು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದಷ್ಟೇ ಗೊತ್ತು. ಮತ್ತ್ತೆ ಎಚ್ಚರವಾದಾಗ ಮೈಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳಿದ್ದದ್ದೂ, ಬೇರೆಯವರು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಿರುದನಿ ಕೇಳಿ ಬಂತು. ಕಣ್ಣು ಬಿಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಕಂಡಿದ್ದು ಎದ್ದು ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದ ಪವಿತ್ರಾ, ರವಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅರವಿಂದ. ನಾನು [...]
