I was greeted with errors when I started installing few new packages on my laptop last night. Didn’t get to fix them until this morning.
# aptitude update

Above error was all over the screen.
I was bit curious to check anonymous proxy which I can run on my system to ensure anonymity and I had installed anon-proxy. I really didn’t get to see how it really functions as I didn’t reboot my laptop to apply the settings. Once my laptop was rebooted, I found that proxy is not working though it daemon is running in the background. Running aptitude from the console confirmed by erupting the error mentioned earlier.
To resolve the issue, first I had to remove anon-proxy, purge it and on top of all this I had to reboot my laptop to see things working once again. Setting the network proxy settings to auto detect didn’t work on my Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex Alpha6 installation.
