Kubuntu 8.10 – Not so good

linux, Product Info, Technical, Ubuntu | 0 comments

I really don’t understand why Canonical made a big mistake by compromising on its Intrepid Ibex release. I had lots of bugs and errors with Ubuntu 8.10 as well as Kubuntu 8.10. The worst part is I can’t even continue working with Kubuntu, which I wanted to use for a new project.

I’m unable to get the KNetworkManager working on the system and there have been lots of discussions about this issue already on various forums. Have a look at the release page. Good, the bugs are reported. When I can’t use this distro why should I try it and recommend it. If there is a delay in getting things packed up fine before the dead line set for the distro release, why can’t we think of explaining the difficulty to the community and delay the release to give a stable and tested version instead of some buggy stuff.
