Virtual Ethernet devices of the OpenVZ VM’s inside ProxMox is connected to a bridge. After installing ProxMox and creating virtual nodes, I found that public ips allocated inside VM’s were not reachable to world.
A quick fix for this issue is to ensure that Proxy ARP and IP Forwarding is configured fine.
Check these lines:
# ifconfig vzbr0 0
# echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/vzbr0/forwarding
# echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/vzbr0/proxy_arp

I was getting lots of errors while uploading and creating thumbnails on Mediawiki. While following through mediawiki support pages found that I have to disable the following line in
#$wgUseImageMagick = true;
And yes, that did the trick. Thumbnails started working fine.
Hmm.. good for now.
We were (myself and hpn) hit by a strange error (atleast for us ) while we started putting up sampada media wiki onboard from backup. Wiki didn’t load for which we were using MySQL InnoDB tables. Dumping some other old database backup also didn’t help.
Here is what we were greeted with on the browser:
MediaWiki internal error.

Fix: InnoDB engine works with 3 files in mysql data folder. ib_logfile0 and ib_logfile1 for logs and for data storage it uses ibdata1.
-rw-rw—- 1 mysql mysql 5242880 Oct 27 21:52 ib_logfile0
-rw-rw—- 1 mysql mysql 5242880 Oct 27 21:52 ib_logfile1
-rw-rw—- 1 mysql mysql 44040192 Oct 27 21:52 ibdata1
To resolve the above issue we removed the log files and restarted the MySQL to get going quickly with our mediawiki installation. Hope this saves few hours for others facing the same problem.
Many customers are prompted for passwords while accessing the sites hosted on Plesk windows servers. If you do not provide the password and cancel the password prompt, you will get the following error on browser:
HTTP Error 401.1 – Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.
Internet Information Services (IIS)
You get this error while your domains anonymous username and passwords are out of sync with IIS. This can be fixed by running a Plesk tool (You will find it only if your server is managed via Plesk Panel) as follows:
C:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\admin\bin\websrvmng.exe —update-anon-password —domain-name=
Please replace with your domain name. The above command syncs IIS.
What if it turns out to be a server wide issue?
Right. Check out the following command to see how you can sync all the website’s anonymous users passwords with IIS.
C:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\admin\bin\websrvmng.exe —update-anon-passwords-all

UI is not completely localized but lots of things can be found in Kannnda in menu’s etc… I think you can identify a bug too here. Do you? If you have interest in localization etc.. mail me back..
There have been couple of security updates to WordPress recently and here comes an another one….
Yesterday a vulnerability was discovered: a specially crafted URL could be requested that would allow an attacker to bypass a security check to verify a user requested a password reset. As a result, the first account without a key in the database (usually the admin account) would have its password reset and a new password would be emailed to the account owner. This doesn’t allow remote access, but it is very annoying.
We fixed this problem last night and have been testing the fixes and looking for other problems since then. Version 2.8.4 which fixes all known problems is now available for download and is highly recommended for all users of WordPress.
This release also fixed the theme issue which I had with my admin interface. Entire wp-admin section used to display in white color and I was also unable to use the options ajax based option menus etc.
Thanks for the update guys!
