After 6 months, I got to get back into BMTC bus and few auto rickshaws to travel to and fro from office to home. Yeah, it has been 6 months since I’m driving my car to office almost every day and I never got a chance to get into a bus all these days. After 4 days I got my vehicle back today from the service station and now I’m back to driving.
It was fun getting back to old routines for few days, even got a chance to ride on my colleague’s Royal Enfield motor bike. It gave me some space to think for a while, without worrying about driving, traffic etc and I even got to read few pages from couple of books I have been carrying in my bag.
I was uneasy while catching the bus for couple of days and also felt bit lazy to wait for them. But once I got in and started reading the book and started hearing the funny talks of common people, I felt better. Oh! yes I’m missing a lot while not traveling in the bus. Many times, I get to hear about certain things which are happening here in Bangalore, little or more of politics etc even without reading the news paper and lot more. I miss all these when I travel in my car alone 23-24kms. hmmm.
Its fine, I have been benefited in many ways after buying my car! I’m able to save little time for myself. I’m able to eat food at home. It has saved me from lots of health related issues as I have stopped taking food from outside. I’m able to restrict myself to a limited number of office hours. I’m able to really go out with friends more often or at least when its planned and look at the sun, sky and the moon. (Oh! yes I didn’t get to see meteors or Leonid’s which I had mentioned few days back). I’m able to breath the fresh air on the top of the hills when we go out (I had been to Nandi Hills last Sunday which I didn’t report on my blog yet;) and I shall share some pics of monkeys too )
I have few confessions too..
I have burnt enough petrol in these six months, for the money which I have saved by having food at home etc etc.. I have tried my self to drive slow and safe so that I can keep the CO2 at lower level and there have been no injuries to any one while I drove on roads though there have been couple of scratches on my vehicle.
Its all great to get wheels! but I HATE TRAFFIC in Bangalore and people who BREAK traffic rules troubling me and others who like to drive safe. On top of all that, I hate those who WON’T give way to Ambulance carrying patients to hospitals. and I HATE those politicians who call for BIG MEETINGS without even thinking of TRAFFIC JAM and other issues they create just for the sake of FAME! I heard that people reached home very late that night along with the school children.
Hmm, its time for me to sign off for the day as there is something else waiting for me in Office early in the morning… I gotta drive again…
