I was bit lazy to get BackTrack installed on my USB drive and now Ubuntu 9.04. As you all know now that I’m a lazy sysadmin, I was searching a tool which can do this work for me. Ragava comes online today and puts a comment on my Kannada blog post on Ubuntu 9.04 release and suggests people to check out Unetbootin in case they are curious to test Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope.
UNetbootin allows you to create bootable Live USB drives for a variety of Linux distributions from Windows or Linux, without requiring you to burn a CD. You can either let it download one of the many distributions supported out-of-the-box for you, or supply your own Linux .iso file if you’ve already downloaded one or your preferred distribution isn’t on the list.

It’s quite easy to use (Just tell the location of .iso and select the usb device to be used and click on “ok”), supports huge number of OS’s to be written on to USB. It’s fast in writing ISO to USB. Once I finished using this utility to create a Ubuntu USB device, I just had to get my system rebooted with USB. Try it out today.
Now it will be too easy to make people use Gnu/Linux without making them worry about existing Operating Systems on their hardisks.
