While we wait for the release of “Intrepid Ibex” next month, Mark Shuttleworth unrevealed the name of next up-coming Ubuntu release 9.04.

In his Septembers email to Ubuntu developers announcement list, Mark puts forward the plans for Jaunty.
Jaunty is concentrating on fastest boot time, web application integration to your Ubuntu desktop along with the firmware to run latest gadgets. For example: iPod. Jaunty will be targeting the embedded systems market also while working on the firmware mention above.
No wonder if you see Google applications, widgets and others tools getting integrated to your desktop in place of traditional software tools. Even OpenOffice might get replaced by Google Docs.
It will be more exiting if Ubuntu can make it to “Web OS” hallmark feature attracting new set of users to Linux World.
