Here is the cool tip shared by Aravinda for all those who want to create their own Hackergotchi.
- Use Fuzzy select tool and click on white background of your Image
- Layer -> Transparency -> Add alpha channel -> This makes background transparent
- Edit -> Clear
- Select -> Invert
- Filters -> Light and Shadow -> Drop shadow
Now you are done. If you save as jpeg white bg will be applied automatically, save one source image as .png since jpg will not handle transparency
